Morning Music Moment
Weekday morning prayers to practice beginning each day with gratitude. Brief (2-3 minutes) and normally inspired by a song verse.
Some say that God rather more sung (than spoke) the universe into existence.. We (still) hear echoes of that tune, which we have never heard (ref C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory).
I once heard that no good thing is lost in heaven, which maybe offers some hope that we will receive back the music and songs that were loved, and hear them again in heaven. Though like us, corrected and perfected.

Good morning family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.
Speaker 2:When Jesus sings, I hear violins. When Jesus sings, I forget everything, as he's taken our sins, as he's spreading his wings and smashing our hell with the heaven he brings. When Jesus sings, he sings.
Speaker 1:Jesus, thank you for all of the ways that you are singing to each one of us and thank you for the little hints that music can give us to repoint us towards you. And, in spite of all of the ungodly music, help us to know with certainty that you have not conceded music, nor any other part of creation, to the evil one, that you are reclaiming and restoring all things and that all things belong to you and are under your power. Jesus, please open the doors today that only you can open. Please close the doors that need to be shut, today that only you can open. Please close the doors that need to be shut. Help us to hold tight to you, help us to hold tight to lady wisdom and virtue, and I pray with a special intention for some young people.
Speaker 1:And I pray with another special intention for some older people, jesus, for someone who is far away from you today. I pray that they would hear your voice and harden not their hearts and, as they turn even a little bit toward you, that you would run out to meet them and greet them. Jesus, please show us your beauty today in some small or in some great and unmistakable way. Abba, father, bring us into relationship with you as sons and daughters, not as slaves and servants, and show us your richness and your generosity. Please hear the prayers of all of your loved ones, bless us, protect us, lead us and heal us again today, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. I love you so much.
