Morning Music Moment
Weekday morning prayers to practice beginning each day with gratitude. Brief (2-3 minutes) and normally inspired by a song verse.
Some say that God rather more sung (than spoke) the universe into existence.. We (still) hear echoes of that tune, which we have never heard (ref C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory).
I once heard that no good thing is lost in heaven, which maybe offers some hope that we will receive back the music and songs that were loved, and hear them again in heaven. Though like us, corrected and perfected.

=============================
Breaking under duties after mouth-in that apple
Broke our Daddy’s heart like a 9 pound hammer
Blamin that ole serpent, shoulda been in the slammer
What was I thinkin'?
We’re stuck out of Eden, Flaming Angel at the front gate
Our Daddy spake out, gave Moses 10 new ways
We poured on, in lies, and evils, idols, lust, hate
What was I thinkin?
Oh, we knew there’d be hell to pay
All we’d lost we saw too little too late
Cause I was thinkin how-a fill-a my tank up
Givin slight care to the rabble round me
I was thinkin’ bout a long list
Man, just gotta get sowin’ up treasures I need
I know what I was feelin'
But what was I thinkin'?
What was I thinkin'?
By about that time, the prophets nipping on my heels
Weighed down by load, and fallin on my knees
Cut-off from light, by lumber in my field
Short was my vision
On display my pride, was makin life a disaster
Causin such hurt, makin’ self my own master
Livin’ as a slave to sin and death dancin’
What was I thinkin'?
Oh, I knew there'd be hell to pay
But that cross, my mind began to see great
Cause I was thinking ‘bout an innocent savior
Nailed up right there in the place I should be
I was thinking bout Judas’ kiss
Sil-ver pieces, whatta traitor, all the ways that was me
I know what I was feelin'
But what was I thinkin'?
When a mountain of a man with a Philistine tatoo
Tried the Living God, David showed up to bring truth
At his forehead stone-slingin’ it was no fluke
What were they thinkin'?
Bring our hearts home to You Lord, before it’s past too late
Daddy’s long patience running thin for vice slaves
Pull us from the dark, to Jesus hearken thy ways
What was I thinkin’?
Oh, what was I thinkin'?
Oh, what was I thinkin'?
Then He came out of grave and grinned
Peace be with you, I am with you till the end
Cause now I’m thinkin bout a glorious savior
Worthy of all of my thanks and my praise
I am thinking ‘bout a long list
Goodness spreading out now unto eternity
I know what I was feelin'
Yeah, I know what I was feelin'
But what was I thinkin'?
What was I thinkin'?
Good morning family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Speaker 1:God Almighty, king of Heaven and Earth, thank you for not giving up on us. Thank you for not giving up on me and most especially, for the times when I've given up on earth. Thank you for not giving up on us. Thank you for not giving up on me and, most especially, for the times when I've given up on you, when I don't understand you, when I've been angry with you, when I've chosen my own ways and not your ways. Jesus, please remind us of the incredible and mighty deeds by which you have saved and led us and, most of all, for laying down your life for us. Please cast out lies and strengthen our trust in you. Strengthen our faith, hope and love. Make us able to do what you ask of us to build and spread your kingdom, to help you search and find and bring back the lost to the joy of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. I love you so much.
