Morning Music Moment
Weekday morning prayers to practice beginning each day with gratitude. Brief (2-3 minutes) and normally inspired by a song verse.
Some say that God rather more sung (than spoke) the universe into existence.. We (still) hear echoes of that tune, which we have never heard (ref C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory).
I once heard that no good thing is lost in heaven, which maybe offers some hope that we will receive back the music and songs that were loved, and hear them again in heaven. Though like us, corrected and perfected.

We pray this litany together to request St. Anthony’s intercession for the many losses we have experienced
Leader: Lord, have mercy.

For those of us who have lost:

Our housing… Our financial security…
A loved one… Our dreams…
Our talents… Our initial zeal…
Our sobriety… Our faith…
Our self-respect… Our perspective…
Our innocence… Our independence…
Peace within our families… Civil peace…
Our trust in others… Our virtue…
Our home… Our own particular losses …
Leader: Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world,
All: Have mercy on us.
Leader: Let us pray. All-loving God, You have given us Saint Anthony, the patron of the lost, as an intercessor for those who are in need of your mercy. Listen to his voice as he calls out to you on our behalf, and grant those things which will help us to grow in your love. Through Christ our Lord.

Good morning family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Say hello to the night lost in the shadows. Say hello to the night lost in the loneliness. Jesus, thank you for today. Thank you for the sun rising on another day. Abba, father, thank you for your sun rising forever. Please help us today in all of the ways that we've gotten used to the night, to darkness. Please intercede in our lives today and every day and enable us to sing your praises and to sing say hello to the light For all that we have lost.
