Morning Music Moment
Weekday morning prayers to practice beginning each day with gratitude. Brief (2-3 minutes) and normally inspired by a song verse.
Some say that God rather more sung (than spoke) the universe into existence.. We (still) hear echoes of that tune, which we have never heard (ref C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory).
I once heard that no good thing is lost in heaven, which maybe offers some hope that we will receive back the music and songs that were loved, and hear them again in heaven. Though like us, corrected and perfected.
Morning Music Moment
2024-10-15 Burn
Good morning, family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. We can light it up, up, up, so they can't put it out out out. When the lights started out, they don't know what they heard. Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world. We'll be raising our hands shining up to the sky. We'll be raising our hands shining up to the sky because we got that fire, fire, fire and we gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn. Come, holy Spirit, fill the hearts of thy faithful and kindle in us the fire of your love.
Speaker 1:Jesus, thank you for all of the ways that you speak to us, that you whisper to us, and for even when you must shout to get our attention. When I look around, it seems like so many people just have not heard or just don't really know what they heard. Jesus, increase my love for other people, but save me from the temptation of lamenting about them as an excuse and distraction, of lamenting about them as an excuse and distraction away from myself and all of the ways that I fail to trust and to live up to what I have heard from you. Please help everyone this day who is struggling with heavy burdens or all kinds of afflictions, addictions, conflicts or dysfunctions. Make your presence known to them and make your heart known to them and help us to love them as you have loved us. Give them hope and patience and peace Beyond all merits. Pour out your love on us again and wipe away our tears. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to heaven, especially those most in need of thy mercy. Light us up again with the plain facts of your resurrection and the infinite implications of what it means. Let us see plainly that it is not a myth or an old story that was nice for people 2,000 years ago.
Speaker 1:I'm almost tempted to imagine what if everyone was resurrected three days after their death. How different that would be. But it seems that we need to see the horror and ugliness of death as part of our cure. Increase our hatred of death and increase our love for you and your power and victory over death. Increase our love for life and the beauty of every life and for you, the author of life. You came to give us life and life more abundantly At the start of this day. Help us turn back to you and receive it and light us up, up up, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. I love you so much.
