Morning Music Moment
Weekday morning prayers to practice beginning each day with gratitude. Brief (2-3 minutes) and normally inspired by a song verse.
Some say that God rather more sung (than spoke) the universe into existence.. We (still) hear echoes of that tune, which we have never heard (ref C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory).
I once heard that no good thing is lost in heaven, which maybe offers some hope that we will receive back the music and songs that were loved, and hear them again in heaven. Though like us, corrected and perfected.
Morning Music Moment
2024-11-18 Across The River
Good morning family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Well, I know some fine day you will find your way across the river, across the river, jesus. Thank you for this day. Thank you for all of the ways that you are speaking to us At the start of this day. Turn our hearts and minds and our ears back to you.
Speaker 1:Save us from listening to the wrong voices, voices of doubt and discouragement, voices that come from a place of envy, resentment or pride. Save us from being a voice of negativity, from being a scoffer. Save us from the vices of tearing other people down or mocking their dreams or expecting their failure, worst of all, to want or wish or celebrate it. And save us from the lies that we can be or do anything we want if we just xyz want if we just xyz. Save us from lying and enabling foolish choices or setting other people up for failure instead of teaching and practicing prudence and speaking truth with love.
Speaker 1:Jesus, increase our trust in you. Remind us how beloved we are and what your life and death and resurrection have done for us, and lead us to bring to you our broken dreams, our broken roads and our broken hearts. Let us find healing in you and give us new dreams and new life and new aspirations for great things, for things that have eternal value. Jesus, please use this. Use our lives today, in each moment. Use the entirety of our lives in all moments. Use our successes, use our failures, use our faith, use our doubts, use our wisdom, use our folly, use our sickness, use our health, use our vigor, use our fatigue, use our fears, use our hopes. Everything belongs to you, but let us willingly give it all over to you in faith, hope and love and desire to see your love transform and make use of it. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen, I love you so much.
