Morning Music Moment
Weekday morning prayers to practice beginning each day with gratitude. Brief (2-3 minutes) and normally inspired by a song verse.
Some say that God rather more sung (than spoke) the universe into existence.. We (still) hear echoes of that tune, which we have never heard (ref C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory).
I once heard that no good thing is lost in heaven, which maybe offers some hope that we will receive back the music and songs that were loved, and hear them again in heaven. Though like us, corrected and perfected.

Good morning , family , in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit , amen . Well , he came from college just the other day . So much like a man . I just had to say I'm proud of you . Could you sit for a while ? He shook his head and he said with a smile what I'd really like , dad , is to borrow the car keys . See you later . Can I have them please ? And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon , little boy blue and the man on the moon . When you come on home , son , I don't know when We'll get together then , you know we'll have a good time then .
Speaker 1Abba , father , thank you for making us in your image . Thank you for wanting us to be more like you , dad , thank you for all of the ways that you are making us to be just like you . I pray in a special way for so many people who think they don't want to be like you , who say they don't want to be like you or think about you or talk about you or talk to you . But they do want power and beauty and peace , and they want to know things and understand things and create , and they want enriching relationships and to receive our love languages and to live and never die . And yet our sins make us want to move away from you , who are the source and creator of all these things .
Speaker 1Jesus , where sin abounds today , let your grace even more . Jesus , please speak to each of us today in unmistakable ways and help us to make time for you . Help us to find the time and want to get together and even to waste time with you . Help us to trust you and correct more of our wrong ideas about you and save us from the wrong ways of being afraid of you . Teach us wisdom and give us courage to make changes and make better choices about how we spend our time , to love you and love one another and love ourselves . In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit , amen , I love you so much .
