Psalm 30:1-5

“I will exalt you, Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.”

This Psalm is an excellent example of a prayer of thanksgiving to the Father. The Psalmist thanks God for hearing his cries and restoring him.

Likewise, this prayer is suggested as an excellent way for us to thank God for holding us fast through trying periods of our lives.

Psalm 40:1-6

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.”

If you’re going through a difficult time, this Psalm reminds you that if you put your trust in the Lord, he will carry you through. The writer recounts how God brought him through a trying period and gave him a new song.

Psalm 103:1-22

“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

According to these verses, the Psalmist encourages his soul to bless the Lord and not forget all he has done. This Psalm is suggested to be a great thanksgiving and adoration prayer.

Psalm 139

“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.”

This Psalm is implied to be one of the best examples of prayer in the book of Psalms. The Psalmist explores the vastness of God’s power and knowledge over our lives.

It’s suggested as a great prayer in times of doubt or when you need to remind yourself of God’s power.

Psalm 51:3-6

“For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge.”

This Psalm is suggested as a prayer for forgiveness. The verses discuss God’s right to judge us for our sins and transgressions.

It’s a prayer for him to cleanse us of our sins and lead us in righteousness.

Psalm 30:3-5

“You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit. Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime;weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”

Another thanksgiving prayer is found within these verses. The Psalmist urges us to trust the Lord since our weeping may endure for the night, but joy always comes in the morning.

If you’re grateful for how God has fought for you, this Psalm would be a great addition to your prayer.

Psalm 119:33-40

“Teach me, Lord, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end. Gi

Speaker 1:

Good morning family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Strumming my pain with his fingers, singing my life with his words, killing me softly with his psalms. Killing me softly with his psalms, telling my whole life with proverbs. Killing me softly with his psalms. Jesus, thank you for the gift of life again today and thank you for all of the ways that you speak to us, but especially for Holy Scripture written down and made so available and gifted to us for our benefit. Help me to read and treasure and to be transformed by it more deeply At the start of this day. Help all of us to once again choose you and choose to trust in you and choose to listen to you, to follow you and to come and see.

Speaker 1:

Help me to put to death yet again old habits and bad habits and selfish thoughts, angers, unforgiveness, resentments, grudges, envies, jealousies and comparisons and critiques of other people. All of my second guessing you in doing what I want and distrusting that you really know or want what is best for me. All of my fears and lukewarm zeal. All of my efforts and attempts to use or manipulate other people or to win favor. Please kill these things in me, softly if possible, but sternly if necessary. Please kill all these things in me that tempt me away from you, things that separate or threaten to separate me from you and separate me from the goodness that you created me to be All of my sinful pride, that darkens my intellect and darkens my days and poisons my relationships.

Speaker 1:

Thank you for the gift of a new day today. Please make me new along with it. Thank you for your patience with me and for seeing through all of my facades and seeing the real me. Thank you for all of the ways that you are sculpting and cultivating each one of us. Help us to cooperate with you and to see ourselves a little bit more, the way that you want us to. Help each of us to see your image and likeness in ourselves and in each other. Please hear the prayers of my loved ones and heal and teach and strengthen us, encourage, renew and protect and lead us, gladden our hearts and enlighten our minds to live today well, with you and through you. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. I love you so much.
