Morning Music Moment
Weekday morning prayers to practice beginning each day with gratitude. Brief (2-3 minutes) and normally inspired by a song verse.
Some say that God rather more sung (than spoke) the universe into existence.. We (still) hear echoes of that tune, which we have never heard (ref C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory).
I once heard that no good thing is lost in heaven, which maybe offers some hope that we will receive back the music and songs that were loved, and hear them again in heaven. Though like us, corrected and perfected.

Good morning family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. In a time full of war, be peace. In a time full of doubt, just believe. Yeah, there ain't that much difference between you and me. In a time full of war, be peace In a place that needs a change. Make a difference. In a time full of noise, just listen. Make a difference in a time full of noise. Just listen, because life is but a breeze. Better live it in a place that needs a change. Make a difference in a world full of hate. Be a light. When you do somebody wrong, make it right. Don't hide in the dark. You were born to shine. In a world full of hate, be a light.
Speaker 1:Jesus, our good shepherd, at the start of this day we praise you and we thank you for all of the ways that you are shepherding each one of us and for the unseen ways that you are seeking and coming after everyone around us. Thank you for your transfiguration on the mount to Peter, james and John and revealing your shining glory and peace and goodness that they saw and wrote down for our benefit. Help us to think and know you today truly as the light, and the only light of the world, the author and creator of all light. Let your light and love burn through and burn away the false teachings to follow our inner light and help us to be more than nice people, so much more. Almost everyone is trying to be nice, but you did not suffer crucifixion to give us encouragement to be a little more nice than we were before. Transform our hearts again today and live through us to live radically different, to show the world an unimpeachable distance between just being nice compared to a life of following you and becoming like you, becoming sons and daughters of the Most High Jesus. Please help people who are facing every kind of struggle or suffering or temptation or brokenness, all kinds of doubts and anger and frustrations, where even being nice is a struggle that seems out of reach.
Speaker 1:For people who don't know you, don't see, you, don't hear, you, don't trust you. For people on the wrong path who are at least honest in recognizing that you are an obstacle on that path. Jesus, I lift them up and plead for them and I pray that you would intervene in their lives in miraculous or unmistakable ways. None of us can save ourselves. None of us can pull ourselves up by our bootstraps as we come to you bankrupt with open hands. Fill us with meaning and purpose and value that only you can give For the tension we feel between so many worldly comforts and luxuries and so many people with standards of living better than all of history and yet simultaneously seeming like the world is heading painfully or unstoppably downhill.
Speaker 1:Refill our cups with faith till they runneth over. Open a fire hose of faith, and not a California one, but soak and drench them too. Remind us how serious our choices are and how much they matter, and also to be astonished by how much, infinitely more it matters what you do. Saint Jude, patron of lost causes, pray for us. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. I love you so much.
