Morning Music Moment
Weekday morning prayers to practice beginning each day with gratitude. Brief (2-3 minutes) and normally inspired by a song verse.
Some say that God rather more sung (than spoke) the universe into existence.. We (still) hear echoes of that tune, which we have never heard (ref C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory).
I once heard that no good thing is lost in heaven, which maybe offers some hope that we will receive back the music and songs that were loved, and hear them again in heaven. Though like us, corrected and perfected.

Good morning family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen. Well, I knew I was in trouble. Now. My hope of winning sank because I got the daily double now. And then my mind went blank. I took potpourri for 100. Then my head started to spin. Head started to spin.
Speaker 1:Jesus, thank you for listening to me, even when I'm grumbling, when I'm complaining, when I am poor in spirit, for all of the times and challenges where I just feel outmatched and overbooked and up against things that are beyond me. If I had paid closer attention, if I had been wiser, if I had been stronger, if I had worked harder, if I had been more virtuous, if I had been more vigorous, if I had chosen more carefully, if I had planned better, if I had prepared better, if I had been less selfish, if I had been closer to you, then I would have known better what to do. Then I would have been capable of doing something better and being in a better condition. Now, for all of the ways that I just get discouraged and worn out and I'm tempted and I do just settle for less and settle in and conclude that I cannot win. So I just try to endure and lower my aim towards some kind of consolation prize and, lamentably, put my efforts into making sure that I will just give myself some consolation prize, even if no one else will, for all of the things I cannot fix, all of the ways I want things to be easier, all of the ways that I have made things harder, all of the ways that I feel like I am not enough, all of the times I just wasn't too bright. Jesus, I bring it all to you, all of the garbage I've piled up and all of the baggage I still drag around, all of my second guessing, and I ask you to somehow make use of it.
Speaker 1:Jesus, thank you for your loving plans and purposes for all of us losers, for all of the good things that we have lost, that you will restore them greater than we could hope, whether in this life or the next. Thank you for saving me from hope in myself At the start of this day. Renew our hope in you and your great story unfolding. Renew our trust in the perfect knowledge you had when creating each of us. Reassure each of us that we are not here by accident. Remind us that you are for us, not against us, that while we were yet sinners.
Speaker 1:You went to the cross for me. You went to the cross for me. Thank you for giving me so much for the hope of salvation, for so many blessings and beautiful and difficult people in my life, for your patience with all the ways. I am still a difficult person in your life. Jesus, please hear the prayers of my loved ones and open their hearts and heal their hurts and accomplish your mighty works in their lives. Call us to keep coming back to you and to work for and to see. Thy will be done In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. I love you so much.
