Morning Music Moment
Weekday morning prayers to practice beginning each day with gratitude. Brief (2-3 minutes) and normally inspired by a song verse.
Some say that God rather more sung (than spoke) the universe into existence.. We (still) hear echoes of that tune, which we have never heard (ref C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory).
I once heard that no good thing is lost in heaven, which maybe offers some hope that we will receive back the music and songs that were loved, and hear them again in heaven. Though like us, corrected and perfected.

John Williams & Wiener Philharmoniker – "Main Title" from "Star Wars: A New Hope"
Good morning family, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen, Bum-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba, Jesus, thank you for another day and thank you for the example that comes to us through Star Wars, for the example that comes to us through Star Wars.
Speaker 1:I come not to bury Star Wars for its many wrong ideas, but to praise it, if only and at least for simply the pursuit of excellence, and even just for the music, for all of the skills and craftsmanship that composed it and perform it.
Speaker 1:Help us to perform the work that you set before us with renewed zeal for excellence and to honor you with our efforts and attitudes.
Speaker 1:Thank you for the gift of a new hope that each day brings, and especially for times and topics where I am losing hope, for the examples among people we know where some character flaw or something in their lives went on a downward course and to our eyes, it never changed and just went down and attempts me to think that hoping was or can be in vain, even as the world slaps us in the face a hundred ways with reality and we think that you mostly or only work in ways that seem so hidden.
Speaker 1:Remind me and renew my hope that even today, at any moment, you could intervene in visibly powerful ways. And if we do not see it, help me to trust that in your divine wisdom you must be doing something better. Jesus, when my hope is thin, when my grip is weak, when my hope breaks, please let me somehow feel the force of your grip on me and on all those whom I love and all those whom I should love, In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. I love you so much.
