Morning Music Moment
Weekday morning prayers to practice beginning each day with gratitude. Brief (2-3 minutes) and normally inspired by a song verse.
Some say that God rather more sung (than spoke) the universe into existence.. We (still) hear echoes of that tune, which we have never heard (ref C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory).
I once heard that no good thing is lost in heaven, which maybe offers some hope that we will receive back the music and songs that were loved, and hear them again in heaven. Though like us, corrected and perfected.

Speaker 1Jesus , thank you for saving me from so many hellish ways that I used to try and fit in and be liked and accepted and trying to earn the approval of the world , and not just the approval , but really wanting the admiration of others . Please save me , even again this day , from the even more black and diabolical pride of thinking myself . Above all that , and better than all that nonsense and those people who I think are enslaved to it . Jesus , help me to do try and be more like you , and yet not try to earn your approval or earn my way into heaven
Seeking Growth During Lent

Help us to desire more fervently to someday hear you say well done , good and faithful servant , and help us to hear and feel today your immeasurable and unchanging love for us , right now , at every moment During this Lenten season . Help me to grow in prayer , almsgiving and self-discipline over my natural passions and weaknesses . Open my eyes to all of the things that still enslave me , even good things , but good things that I idolize and give effort and attention to well beyond their worth . Free me from the enslavements and so many calculations about what is in it for me , open my eyes and renew my joy and wonder at so many riches you have already given me . For even a moment , let me fall on my knees and raise my hands and my heart and all my soul and strength to you

Speaker 1Jesus , I lift up to you so many people who do not feel rich , do not feel blessed and do not think there is much to thank you for , for those blinded by entitlement or comforts or sloth or bad examples around them . Please reach us anyway and make yourself known to us . For those suffering in very real and serious ways in physical and mental health , in work and finances , in broken or abusive or unhealthy relationships with other people or themselves , or you For every one of us who cannot save ourselves . Please reach us and make your love known to us .
Speaker 1My Lord and my God , when I feel like there is so little that I can do , help me to keep coming back to you with all of the faith , hope and love that I can muster , asking and trusting that you want to reach us and help us and save us and lift us up and restore us . Let your truth , beauty and goodness reach us in powerful and unmistakable ways . Put someone into our lives this week who we will listen to about you , lighten our burdens and change our circumstances and be our very present help in time of need and
